Design a recycling superhero for Recycle Week 2024!

The 14 to 20 October 2024 is Recycling Week, and this year the theme is “Rescue Me – Recycle!” It’s all about saving our recyclables from the general waste bin and giving them a new life.
Child Friendly Leeds wish 5 states that everyone should take more action to protect the environment. You can play your part by joining us in this amazing national campaign designed just for you and your family! We know that busy young families often have lots of packaging, but you might be surprised at how much you can recycle! Let’s become recycling heroes together!

Superhero Poster Competition
We’re launching a “Design a Leeds Recycling Superhero” poster competition for primary school aged children (4-11)! Create your very own recycling hero and show everyone how to see recyclable items as treasures, not just trash.

Prizes to Win!
There are fantastic cash prizes up for grabs for your school:
- 1st Prize: £100 + a ‘Rescue Me’ recycling game for your school!
- 2nd Prize: £50 for your school!
- 3rd Prize: £50 for your school!
How to Enter:
- Check out www.leedsbyexample.co.uk/rescueme – the entry form is on there but we’ll also accept designs on scrap paper too!
- Design your superhero using your imagination!
- Take a picture of your masterpiece and send it to rescueme@leeds.gov.uk
Don’t forget to include your name and the name of your school and the name of the designer and which group or year they are in when you email!
Unlimited Entries! Feel free to create as many superheroes as you want! Let’s make recycling fun and save the planet together! The competition closes Sunday 3 November!
