HIGHLIGHT

Partnership is key in our child friendly city approach

In January 2023, HRH Princess Catherine visited Leeds to launch the Shaping Us campaign. The aim is to increase awareness of the unique importance of early childhood and how it shapes the rest of our lives. The princess also spoke to individuals involved in Child Friendly Leeds, launched by the late Queen in 2012. The Princess of Wales spoke to our ambassadors and colleagues stating; ”[Having] children and young people at the heart of the city and community here is really impressive.

Testimonials

Don’t take our word for it – here’s what our ambassadors say:

We have enjoyed playing our part as a CFL ambassador and are continuing to deliver fantastic success for families in Leeds, such as projects like the Leeds Jurassic Trail encompassing the Healthy Holidays scheme. We look forward to achieving more through our excellent partnership.

Since becoming a Child Friendly Leeds Ambassador this year we have really valued having the support from the team and how our work at NSPCC supports the CFL wishes and wider priorities of the service. The information and connections the team have shared have been invaluable and much appreciated.

Being a school on the outskirts of
Leeds can sometimes mean we are disconnected from what our city has to offer. It is great we have Child Friendly Leeds that helps connect our pupils and schools together.
