Last year, our holiday guides received more than 25,000 views. We listened to your feedback and have developed this guide to make it even easier for children, young people and families to find fun, affordable and accessible activities across the city.
We know how important school holidays are for spending quality time together, trying new experiences and creating lasting memories. That’s why we’ve brought together a wide range of activities to help your family make the most of everything Leeds has to offer. This guide will be updated regularly throughout the holidays, so keep checking back for the latest events and activities. We will also be releasing new Child Friendly Leeds Holiday Guides every school holiday and half term, helping families stay connected to opportunities and events all year round.
We have included as many free and pay-as-you-feel events as possible, along with some low-cost (*) activities. You can download this guide and click on each link to find out more.

Key Events, Sessions & Activities to experience in Leeds this Summer
Breeze in the Park

This summer get caught up in sun, fun, chills and thrills with, our interactive play system, arts zone, games, sports, food and, of course, our classic inflatables. Tickets are £1 per child, per event.
Trivial Pursuit (City Centre)

Leeds is being transformed into a giant board game from 25 July – 30 August with a free family trail celebrating Leeds 400, with challenges, puzzles and prizes across the city centre with Leeds Bid.
Healthy Holidays Activities

Running over the school holidays, our clubs can be found across Leeds, and they provide delicious food and incredible activities. Find out if you’re eligible to access at least £840 worth of activities.
Leeds Museums & Galleries

Discover family trails, exhibitions, workshops and special holiday events at museums and heritage sites such as Temple Newsam across Leeds.
Summer Reading Challenge

The summer reading challenge is back and you can also find free family activities, storytelling sessions and events taking place throughout the holidays.

Breeze in the Park: 25 Events in July / August in Parks Across Leeds
This summer get caught up in sun, fun, chills and thrills with, our interactive play system, arts zone, games, sports, food and, of course, our classic inflatables. This summer holidays we’ll be popping up across Leeds Parks on all of these dates. All funded by local Community Committee Teams.
- Each events runs from 12-4pm
- Admission is £1 per child.
- Your Breeze Pass is not required for entry
- For children with additional needs who require a quieter session – we have 12 relaxed Breeze in the Park events (*).
- Relaxed Session times: 11am – 12noon (you can stay for the 12pm session too)

Breeze healthy holidays fun club! There are four Breeze Healthy Holidays Fund Days happening this summer. Choose from:

- Friday 24 July: John O’Gaunts, Rothwell.
Healthy Holidays Leeds: Holiday Clubs

Healthy Holiday clubs are running over the Easter, summer and Christmas holidays, our clubs can be found across Leeds, and they provide delicious food and incredible activities and trips. Each child can access at least £840 worth of activities for no cost to their parent/ carer! This fantastic scheme, funded by the Department for Education, is open to most children and young people who are eligible for benefits-related Free School Meals.
