The Child Friendly Leeds team has been looking back with huge appreciation at the kindness, creativity, and community spirit that shone across the city during our biggest festive giving drive.
The Employment and Skills Service proudly supports the Apprenticeship Ambassador Network, a community of current and former apprentices who share their experiences to inspire the next generation. By telling their stories, ambassadors help students understand real career pathways while showcasing the pride and impact of apprenticeships. This network also strengthens connections between employers, apprentices, and education providers.
Leeds Business Anchors is a partnership of large businesses in Leeds that come together to increase their collective contribution to the city and identify practical interventions they can take as a group that will deliver local benefits. In June 2025, five members of Leeds Business Anchors delivered a pilot work experience week, which was ringfenced for care-experienced students.
Care Experienced Futures: Supporting Care Leavers in Leeds. Research by the National Youth Advocacy Service (NYAS) revealed that eight in ten children in care have, at least once, had their belongings moved in bin bags at least once.
