Communications and Media

Children in Leeds told us that ‘play makes life amazing’ and ‘play is when you can fill up on joy’.  Watch this video (it’s really worth it!) and take the time to think about the play memories that have shaped you. We would love to hear them!
See the joy that Play Streets can bring, and the difference a bit of support can make when it comes to making Play Streets happen in neighbourhoods that face greater challenges.

We are born with a need to play – it’s how we understand the world around us and connect with the people that are important in our lives. Play is an incredibly powerful yet very simple thing that we can all do.

Social Media Post

Play is a right, not a luxury. This International Day of Play, we’re inviting communities across Leeds to help create more opportunities for children to play where they live.

Because a Child Friendly City needs Playful Streets.

Play doesn’t just happen in playgrounds.

It happens on streets, doorsteps, parks and in neighbourhoods where children have the time, space and permission to play. That’s why we’re celebrating Play Streets across Leeds.
