Children and young people can travel around the city safely and easily
Children and young people feel that public transport is safe, reliable and accessible. They will not experience rising costs.
What is Wish 6?
Wish 6 in the Council
There is work taking place within Leeds City Council, lead by our ‘Wish Lead’, on Wish 6 right now. The short-term priorities are:
- Continued participation in all the road safety lessons offered to schools.
- Raise awareness of Vision Zero, including making sure children and young people understand what it means.
- Work with more high schools to promote road safety and good travel choices.
The long-term priorities are:
- Zero people killed or seriously injured in on Leeds Roads (Vision Zero 2040)
- Encouraging more sustainable and active travel choices
- Develop a recognisable presence for the new road safety mascot.
- Make sure all schools receive road-safety lessons every 2 years
