How does it work?
Speak to a friend or family member who you think would make a great foster carer – you might know someone who has always considered it and now could be the time to go for it! Tell them about the refer a friend scheme and say you want to refer them.
The person(s) you are referring to become a foster carer should then fill out the form to show their interest. When contacted by the fostering team, they will need to confirm that they were referred and give your details (the details of the person who referred them) when asked!
They will go through the normal process of being approved as a foster carer by Leeds City Council, which can take 6 to 9 months.
Once the person is approved, you (the person who referred the foster carer) will receive the payment of £500! No payment is made if they are not approved as a foster carer for Leeds City Council.
You can make more than one referral.
