The events and activities you need to know about this Easter

This Easter we are proud to bring our first CFL guide of the year, to help children and families in Leeds navigate their way through the Easter holidays. The guide is packed full of free or low-cost activities for a range of ages, in the city centre and in your community.
Low-cost activities are marked with a * and the prices are given. All other activities are free or pay as you can.

Check out the Leeds Young Film Festival Movie Club sessions!*
Workshops for children aged 7 to 12 where they can learn about directing, sound design, camera tricks, costumes and prosthetics.
There are 4 workshops to choose from at £7.50 per workshop OR £6 per workshop if you book onto more than one.

OR be a part of the Leeds Young Film Festival’s Giant Jury!
Leeds Young Film Festival are creating a jury out of young people aged 8-12 interested in film reviewing, who will watch a selection of films for free and then discuss and vote on their favourite.

Medieval Easter at the Royal Armories
It’s going to be an action-packed Easter at the museum with combat demonstrations and themed activities, plus you can explore the amazing national collection of arms and armour.

7 April
£1 rave with Boomchikkaboom*
Kick off the school holidays with a BANG! Join us at Project House, Leeds for one of our famous Family Raves. Expect a playlist filled with dancefloor fillers from all genres. Complete with our session of fast paced family fun, dance off battle, parachute mayhem, bubbles and snow galore!

Put your money where your mouth is!
Join this workshop about Ancient Roman coins and trade, have a go at ‘minting’ your own chocolate coins and explore the amazing collections store.

LEGO Build the Change
We’re taking back our museum grounds and we need your help! Get creative using LEGO® bricks to design how we can make our grounds better for us and our environment.

Drop in the VR ocean
Ride a jellyfish. Meet a leatherback turtle. Come face-to-face with a whale shark. From the perspective of a tiny plankton, you’ll explore the ocean in stunning virtual reality – and see why the need to protect it is so urgent. Ages 7+

Bluey & Bingo story time
Join us on Wednesday 9th April 2025, for some FREE fun story time experiences, led by a narrator, at intervals between 11am – 3pm, taking place in The Green area in the main mall.

11 April
National Board Games Day!
Join us for a celebration of table-top adventures and sharing favourite games. If you like rolling dice, dealing cards or moving miniature people, then come along and play new games or familiar classics. Everyone is welcome to bring their own games to share, too.

Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (U)

Make it Move!
Travel through time at this free family workshop during the Easter holidays. You will learn about the history of animation and take part in an activity to become a digital animator for the day.

Leeds Young Film Festival Short Films
The programme of short films is packed with inspiring stories for young audiences! Follow a brave snail conquering its fears, a determined penguin with big dreams of becoming a postman, and so much more in this collection of short films. Suitable for age 5+

Skelton Grange Easter Trail*

Sign up for Healthy Holidays Leeds this Easter!

School-aged children and young people eligible for income-related free school meals can take part in amazing, free activities with a healthy meal from 7 April to 21 April.
Activities vary and can include sports, outdoor activities, dance, arts and crafts, as well as visits to attractions like Temple Newsam and Lotherton Hall. Every child and young person will receive a tasty nutritious meal that meets their dietary requirements. There are over 90 Healthy Holidays clubs across Leeds.
