What’s on…
John Lewis is a brilliant Child Friendly Leeds ambassador and bring you a baby week special here in Leeds. Bringing many special taster special during Baby Week dedicated events for babies, under 5’s expectant parents and parents / carers. Each activity is by a different provider, some may charge, some need booking and some are free to drop in and enjoy!
All events will be on fourth floor community hub next to the ‘Place to Eat Restaurant’ in Leeds.

Monday 18 November
Baby Sensory – Taster session to introduce you to world of Baby Sensory magic! (B)
Baby Sensory provides ideas for creative play, massage, tummy time, movement, visual development, textures, scents and music in simple practical ways that can be easily repeated at home. Aimed at 0 – 13months.

Family Story Play with Debutots (B)
A new and original Debutots story will be brought to life in this class which combines singing, dancing, Interactive storytelling and early years drama games. We focus on speech and language development and promoting a child’s confidence and creativity through drama in a relaxed and fun way.

Taster Session with Little Movers (B)
Suitable from birth to toddling. Fun and interactive dance and movement class, to help your little ones keep fit and healthy and have lots of fun along the way. Afterwards you are welcome to come along to the onsite cafe!

Instinctive parenting: nurturing early growth (B)
Join Dr Lucy, a Clinical Psychologist and parent, for this informative talk, backed by science. Discover how you can tap into your instincts to build lifelong psychological health for your family.

Free Pregnancy Relaxation Class (B)
A chance to connect with your baby and your pregnancy in the midst of your busy life, a chance to ease into your evening, a chance to practise your breathing and relaxation techniques and a chance to meet other, local expectant Mums, these classes are the perfect introduction to hypnobirthing. The Play Tent at John Lewis (B)
Free little pop up to celebrate Leeds baby week. Tickets must be reserved in advance to manage numbers.
10:30 – 11:30 PM
Number Train (B) (£)
Preschool class – Climb aboard the Number Train as it takes you and your child on an educational adventure of discovery, learning about maths through fun themed activities! Perfect for children aged 2.5 years plus starting school in 2025 or 2026.
1 – 2 PM
£4.50 per child (half price offer) & siblings are £2.25 if aged 2 years plus.

During Baby Week, there are two other key events at John Lewis:
John Lewis – ‘Let’s Talk Baby’ event with their brilliant brand representatives
11am – 3pm:
We will be hosting our own event during baby week called ‘Let’s Talk Baby’ at the Community Hub Floor 4 and we will be having a few different brand representatives coming along and delivering talks.
This is inclusive to anybody who would like to attend and will be knowledge based rather than selling of products. Customers attending will receive a free soft drink upon arrival. Customers can attend the different talks and come and go as they please. There will be opportunity at the end and in between talks for our customers to speak to our Nursery Advice Team.
‘Parents who Influence’ Exclusive Meet-Up at John Lewis
4pm – 6.30pm:
An exclusive event with partners celebrating Baby Week as a thank you to our amazing parents who influence, share, blog and vlog and keep the city updated on what to do and where!! Throughout the last few years, Baby Week and all the amazing places such as local libraries, parks and new community groups would not be thriving if it wasn’t for parents and carers who promote what’s on and where.
Expect a quiz, mindfulness, networking and refreshments – all organised by the Baby Week & Child Friendly Leeds team!
