Support After Rape and Sexual Violence Leeds

Ambassador pledge

Support After Rape and Sexual Violence Leeds (SARSVL) helps make Leeds child friendly by working with children and young people to raise awareness of rape and sexual violence. We do this by running campaigns, visiting schools and talking to young people about healthy relationships and consent as well as providing a confidential helpline service.

We support girls of any age who have experienced rape or sexual violence through our free and confidential helpline service – telephone, text message, email or face to face.

What difference has it made?

We’re eradicating the inevitability of sexual violence towards women and girls which will benefit children and young people in Leeds. As we are led by the women and girls we support, this helps us to constantly review whether what we are doing is working, and thus tailor our service delivery to their needs. Women and girls who use our services can give us verbal feedback during calls, or online feedback via an anonymous survey afterwards. This feeds into the regular monitoring and evaluation of our services.

We also review our helpline system to assess busy call times and match these with our opening hours. We can reimburse the cost of childcare for any service user who has caring responsibilities when she visits our city centre premises for a face to face appointment. We welcome invitations from schools and youth organisations to come along and talk to staff and the children/young people about what we do.
