Leeds has prepared its 16 year development plan for the whole of the city, including where you live, and potentially affecting every resident and business within Leeds and every community across the city.To find out more, and have your say, visit http://www.leeds.gov.uk/yourcity.

This 16 year plan will impact on the shape and feel of the whole city long into the future so it’s key that we consider the impact on children, and even the next generation of children, as it’s effectively their city we’re shaping now.

A major citywide consultation is due to take place for two months starting Tuesday 22 September 2015 until Monday 16 November 2015. This consultation exercise will identify resident and local businesses views on our Site Allocations plan, and, in the case of the Aire Valley, the Aire Valley Leeds Area Action Plan.

Part of the Core Strategy, the Site Allocations plan identifies the sites for development for the 66,000 new homes identified as being needed in Leeds over the next 16 years. The Aire Valley Leeds Area Action Plan does the same, for the area within the Aire Valley. The plans also cover spaces for jobs, retail and greenspace; but it is envisaged that homes given the number will be the main focus of responses.
