Ambassador blog: Leeds Grand Futures – who we are and what we do!

Chaired by Rachel Lythe, the Grand Futures Leeds Arts Partnership is a network of organisations across the city that are working together to address some of the challenges associated with young people accessing training and careers in the arts .
Today Jane Zanzoterra represents the Grand Futures Leeds Arts Partnership and talks about the work the group is doing to provide young people with the help and information they need when considering their options for the future.
Who we are:
The following organisations make up the partnership: Leeds Grand Theatre & Opera House Ltd (including City Varieties Music Hall and Hyde Park Picture House), Opera North, Northern Ballet, West Yorkshire Playhouse, Yorkshire Dance, East Street Arts, Leeds City College and LCC ArtForms and Apprenticeship Hub bringing together years of expertise.
What are the benefits?
The joined-up approach means that the organisations benefit by supporting each other; filling in gaps; and finding solutions to challenges that all the organisations experience.
What we do:
By working together we have been able to:
- Increase the number of paid opportunities for young people within the sector, including over 20 new apprenticeship and internship roles now in post providing more diversity within the sector
- Work with school children from a young age so that they are aware of the different arts organisations available in the city and what job opportunities exist within the sector
- Work as a group to explore alternative models for work experience to make the process more manageable, focusing on excellent outcomes for young people
