The art of happiness & looking after your well-being (according to children from Leeds)

During the pandemic, we know many children, young people and families had a difficult time. We wanted to ensure happiness and well-being were a top priority and launched the The Happy Project wit the Merrion Centre, owners Town Centre Securities PLC. Poetry submissions on the theme of ‘Happiness & Wellbeing’ were received by poets aged 5-12 years old from Leeds’.
Winners were judged by the competition partners as well as the Leeds Childrens Mayor who launched his own website called ‘Helping Hands’ as part of his manifesto ‘Be Yourself, Love yourself, Respect all others’.

Knowing what steps we can take to support our mental wellbeing can help us feel better, sleep better and have better relationships with the people around us – and that goes not just for today but for the future too. There’s loads of things we can all do to look after our mental wellbeing, and taking any time you can for self-care is massively important, especially now.
