Making the most of the summer holidays with Metro

With the school holidays getting underway, Metro is reminding young people and their families how they can get the most out of West Yorkshire with public transport.

There are 67 rail stations, 14,000 bus stops and shelters and hundreds of bus routes in West Yorkshire and for just £11 a family of up to five can use this huge network to enjoy summer days out, visits and treats. With a Metro Family DayRover Two adults and up to three children can travel on the county’s buses and trains, after 9.30am Monday–Friday and all day at weekends and on Public Holidays.

Young people aged under 16 can also make the most of half fare bus and train travel using their free Metro Young Persons PhotoCard. And anyone ordering a new, smart-enabled Young Persons PhotoCard online or from a Bus Stations Travel Centres or Post Offices before the end of August is in with the chance of winning an iPad.

Timetables and real-time information for West Yorkshire’s bus and rail services, details of money-saving DayRovers tickets and the simple form to apply for a smart Young Persons PhotoCard – and possibly win an iPad – can all be found on the Metro website at http://www.wymetro.com.
