Sorry! Christmas is Cancelled…Katie Saves the Day!
Saturday 12 December
Thieves have broken into Father Christmas’ grotto and stolen all of the presents! All seems lost until Katie hitches a ride on a magical bird to the North Pole, determined to help Father Christmas save the day.

Brought to you by Topsy Turvy Theatre, with hand crafted puppets, original music and stunning scenery, this is a show written especially for ages 3-7, and guaranteed to get you in the festive spirit.
Performances: 11am / 1:30pm

Kirkstall Abbey Museum
Visit Santa in his Grotto
2-4pm every weekend between upto 20 December 2015.
​Visit Father Christmas in his magical Abbey House grotto and collect a present. Don’t forget your camera. There will also be crafts, music and fun in our Victorian Streets.
Price: Grotto is £4 per child (includes a gift). Usual admission charges also apply.

Leeds City Centre
Magical Leeds Lantern Parade
12 December 2015 5:30-6:15pm
Christmas Lantern Parade led by Ronnie the giant Reindeer, and a stunning illuminated White Owl courtesy of our friends at the Handmade Parade​!

A beautiful illuminated Snow Queen, will glide magnificently through the streets of Leeds, joined by larger-than-life Winter Wonderland Birds, illuminated with incredible lights, set to amaze you!

This spectacular procession will start from King Edward Street at 5.30pm and wind its way through Leeds city centre with many areas along the route in which you can gather to watch the magnificent procession go past (see below for full route details and map). It will be accompanied by the wonderful sound of Yorkshire’s New York Brass Band performing Christmas tunes and a procession of hand-crafted lanterns, which will transform Leeds into a fantastical winter wonderland.

The Lantern Parade will end at Victoria Gardens at approximately 6.15pm; where there will be a performance of the spectacular Halo Glow Show by Flame Oz, an explosive visual act featuring a combination of world class acrobats and glowing LED hula hoops and juggling clubs. You’ll be able to unwind and enjoy a warming hot chocolate or mulled wine, and a mouth-watering treat from one of the festive food stalls.

Everyone is welcome to watch the parade, just locate yourself along the route to watch this wonderful procession take place. ​

Temple Newsam
500 years of Christmas tour
11-12pm every day between 15 December 2015 and 20 December 2015.
A guided tour exploring how the family would have celebrated Christmas over the lifetime of Temple Newsam House from Tudor banquet to Victorian feast.
Price:   Usual house admission charges also apply.

Enchanted tree trail

The museum’s Christmas trees have been suited and booted! Follow the trail … can you spot the enchanted tree which is wearing a bowtie and a top hat? ​

The Carriageworks Theatre
The Snow Queen
15-23 January 2016
Main Auditorium: 7pm on weekdays and 12pm and 5pm on weekends, Age 2+
She sweeps through the streets on snowy nights, looking in at the windows, her breath leaving strange icy patterns on the glass. “Yes, I’ve seen them”, says Gerda, but little does she know her best friend, Kai, is about to be spirited away to the evil Snow Queen’s Ice Palace. The Snow Queen is another fun family pantomime from the award-winning LIDOS (winner ‘Best Pantomime’ at 2015 Wharfedale Festival of Theatre Awards), with unexpected twists and turns. So bring the family along to cheer the goodies, boo the baddies and sing and clap along the way!
